The Eu Institutions are the bureaucracy behind the European Union, there are three main
Institutions the European Council (council of ministers), European Commission and European
Parliament. EPSO is the agency that organizes recruitment for these institutions. The EU
Exams are called competitions or concourse in French. Currently there are three grades A,
Band C, but after the reform of the Statute there will only be two grades Assistant and
Administrator. These competitions are very very competitive, but the jobs are well paid. A
list of all the people that passed the concour is published. Those on the list have one year
to find a position with the Institutions
EPSO
Unofficial EU Competitions website.(Eu-Exams.com)
I have to add that Eu-Exams.com is an excellent
resource of information on Eu Concounrs. Their study packages are also highly recommended by
most buyers. The Study packages help you prepare for the competition tests.
The EU Institutions also employ, temporary agents or agent contractuel.
How does one find out about temporary jobs with the Institutions ?
Most of these jobs are advertised on the EU Institutions websites. Some are only advertised
‘internally’ though.....
EPSO
EPSO is the agency that manages recruitment. If one is not happy with decisions made by EPSO
their is a special baord which can handle complaints for each EU Competition. The ombudsman
and the Court of first Instance also ‘handle’ complaints on decision made by EPSO on
specific individuals.
EPSO work by the book especially when they are dealing with certificates and work
experience
