Deloitte is looking for a Business Controller to strengthen the Controlling team of the Consulting Business Unit.
(EXPERIENCED) BUSINESS CONTROLLER
Function
Ensure complete budgetary control of revenues and costs as well as functional support to the accounting department and to management. Identify improvement opportunities both at process and expenses level. You will report directly to the Consulting managing partner
Tasks
As Business Controller you will be responsible for:
Taking active part into the planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles, acting as a finance challenger. You will coordinate, define and report on budgets and forecasts in close cooperation with management and staff from other departments.
Coordinating and supporting the monthly closing cycle (controlling time submission, controlling the accounts, running the controls in expense, invoicing, WIP and following up monthly accruals). You will also assist the general/statutory accounting.
Monthly timely and qualitative reporting "beyond numbers", supported by variance analysis (monthly revenue, gross margin and expenses analysis as well as overhead analysis).
Reporting to the corporate controller for all BU related figures.
Actively assisting in the development and improvement of the SAP platform.
Supporting ad hoc reporting and analysis inquiries on management request.
Identifying risks areas and improvement opportunities and proposing corrective actions to management.
Management of small BU Controlling team.
Knowledge and/or specific skills:
The ideal candidate should have:
Eye for quality with a good overview on different components.
Strong service orientation (all partners, service line leaders, etc. are clients).
Experience in the (consulting) services sector.
Balance between management and still being seriously hands-on.
Ability to not simply present numbers, but interpret them/do some proper analysis.
Furthermore, he/she should also have:
University degree : economics, finance or equivalent with experience in financial analysis.
Operational knowledge of accounting and/or controlling with preferably 1 to 3 years working experience in a similar position.
Good knowledge of English, French and Dutch.
Knowledge of SAP ERP.
Good knowledge of MS Excel functionalities.
Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Team player.
Ability to work independently, pro-active behavior.
Managing priorities and deadline, stress resistant.
Coaching and people management.
