The FO will be responsible for:

• Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that ESU finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
• In coordination with the Project Officer, manage project finances and prepare financial reports for donor institutions
• Administer employee files and records in order to ensure accurate payment of benefits and allowances
• Raising funds for ESU, mainly through project applications to European institutions, but also finding new sources of funding
• Providing efficient and effective office and activities management

 Requirements:

• Good knowledge of financial management. A qualification in the field or comparable experience will be considered as advantage;
• Knowledge and experience in financial reporting international projects, in particular projects funded by the European Commission, will be considered as advantage;
• Good knowledge in English (the working language of ESU);
• Good computer skills and web literacy;
• Good planning skills and ability to respect deadlines;
• Coordination and team communication skills;
• Ability to work singly and in a team.

Terms of contract

• The position is advertised for 37.5 hours per week agreement.
• 2 years initial contract with a six months trial period.
• 20 days of paid holidays/ year
• based in Brussels, occasional travel
• the applicant must have a working permit for the European Union
• candidates should be available to start working in May/June 2009.

 

Ideal starting date: June 2009

Net salary: 1300 EUR/month. Additionally, ESU offers food vouchers of 120 EUR/month.
