Job description
• Develop and oversee a fundraising strategy for the implementation of Nonviolent Peaceforce’s long term plan.
• Manage the international fundraising department of Nonviolent Peaceforce, including monthly meetings, reports, staff development and information about NP’s programs.
• Increase funding from governments and multilateral organizations.
• Increase focus on raising funds from individuals and foundations from multiple countries.
• Liaise with other departments and country directors on fundraising issues.
• Support other departments in grant management and reports to funders.
• Prepare monthly and yearly income projections.
• Identify new donors and opportunities to bring Nonviolent Peaceforce up to large scale.
• Represent Nonviolent Peaceforce to donors at a variety of meetings and events.
• Participate as a senior staff member in the strategy, decisions and day to day running of Nonviolent Peaceforce including assessment of deployment decisions.
• Report to the International Governing Council and its committees on fundraising goals, targets and activities.
Requirements
• At least 3 years proven experience in implementation of an international fundraising strategy.
• Proven track record with raising funds from multiple sources, e.g. the UN and EU, governmental entities, development agencies and other large-scale granting organizations
• Excellent knowledge of non-profit and government sectors.
• At least 2 years experience managing staff.
• Knowledge of project design methodologies.
• Excellent budgeting skills.
• Excellent multi-cultural communication and management skills.
• Understanding of unarmed civilian peacekeeping or peacebuilding.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Fluent English.
The Fundraising Director participates as a member of the senior management team.
This is a full time management position located in Brussels.
Salary level: 37.000-40.000 Euros/year depending on experience. Employment and benefits under Belgian law.
