Java Software Engineer
Function Description
Aprico is looking for an experienced Java J2EE software Engineer to
extend its Java J2EE Team. Our new colleague will be responsible for
J2EE application development.
Responsibilities
As a Java Software Engineer, you will be responsible for component
development, using Object Oriented technologies. You will assist in the
development of applications:
• Graphical User Interface (Swing, SWT, Java Applets)
• Database Access (JDBC, JNDI)
• Web (JSP, Servlets, Struts, JSF)
• Business (Javabeans, EJB’s)
• Interfacing with EIS (JAX-RPC, JAX-WS, JMS, JavaMail, JDBC,
RMI/IIOP, Connector Architecture)
You will also assist in application design
• UML diagrams;
• Improving application scalability, performance, reliability and
security;
• Define development / system integration;
• Component and application deployment:
Communication Skills
We are looking for a professional with good communication skills and
the ability to interact with analysts to understand the specifications
and designs that underlie applications.
Proficient skills in Dutch (spoken), French (spoken), and English
(spoken and written) are expected.
Personal Skills
As a consultant, the candidate should be able to work independently
and follow project priorities and deadlines. He/she closely follows
project procedures (check-in, check-out, time sheet reporting and
punctuality), and will adhere to the rules, standards and guidelines
defined in the architecture.

Technical Skills
• Object Oriented Skills: Proficiency in OO techniques, patterns,
refactoring, Analysis and Design Case Tools, Data Modeling Case
Tools.
• Java Skills: J2SE , Swing, Javabeans, JDBC, RMI, Java Security
(JAAS, JCE, JSSE)
• Java distributed Architectures (J2EE): Servlets, JSP, JavaMail,
JAX-RPC, JAX-WS, JMS, EJB, Connector Architectures, Third-
Party frameworks (Struts, Hibernate, Spring, Axis…)
• Application server: IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.x and
V6.x
• Java IDE: Eclipse, WSAD, IntelliJ, …
