Within the department Operations & Optimization, we open a new position as Order Execution Agent.
As Order Execution Agent, you will be part of the Gas and Power Operations Desk, whose mission is to deliver expert operational services to both the trading teams of TPM Europe as to the portfolio management teams of Portfolio Management Benelux & Germany, being mainly the daily scheduling and nomination of gas and power contracts towards our counterparts and grid operators, the daily bidding on gas and power exchanges, the daily bidding for European gas and power transport capacities, as well as the support of Traders and Portfolio Managers in balancing on real time the intraday gas and power portfolio according to changing production, changing consumption and economic market signals.
Your Mission as Order Execution Agent
You will assist the Portfolio Managers and Traders in their daily optimisation work of their energy portfolios. More specifically, you will
- Post orders to purchase and/or sell power, gas and transmission capacities on the different European wholesale markets and exchanges following the guidelines of portfolio managers and traders
- Follow up and optimize specific structured power and gas contracts within well-defined guidelines determined by traders and portfolio managers
- Realize correct gas and power position capturing following the outcome of the optimisation decisions taken and ensure that all related books are balanced ("energy neutral") and investigate if not the case.
- Provide and create specific daily activity reports toward the Portfolio Managers and Traders
In order to successfully execute these tasks, you will be proactively looking for solutions to address difficulties that arise regarding operational issues in a European-wide perspective, and in addition, ensure a clear communication towards all involved stakeholders.
As Order Execution Agent, you will be reporting to the Operation Officer managing the Order Execution Desk. You will be located in Brussels on the trading floor, within the headquarters of Electrabel S.A.
Qualifications
- You are fluent in English (notions of any other European language are an asset)
- You have a good knowledge of MS-Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Additional skills that are required to perform the job of Operation Agent in the Order Execution desk
- You demonstrate a strong sense of accuracy and are numbers-oriented
- You are able to perform in stressful circumstances with tight deadlines
- You demonstrate a pragmatic and logical attitude combined with problem solving skills
- You communicate in a pro-active and assertive manner
Specific experience in the domain is an asset, but not required. As a preparation to correctly take up this role, a thorough training is foreseen.
