Political campaign consultants in Member States
Are you concerned about climate change? Do you agree that the fight on pollution requires constructive solutions?
The Bellona Foundation is looking for consultants in a number of EU Member States for an exciting project in the field of climate change advocacy, focused on the potential of CO2 capture and storage (CCS) as a tool to “decarbonise” large greenhouse gas emission sources, such as coal-fired power plants.
We are looking in particular for candidates from (and preferably based in) Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Spain.
We are also potentially looking for candidates for smaller projects in Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and the UK.
Approximate duration: 3 months full-time equivalent, starting as soon as possible (project conclusion by 1 September)
Qualifications and skills
• Master degree or equivalent in a topic relevant to political campaigning and climate change (political science, engineering, communication, natural science)
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English and national language, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of domestic politics
• Personal commitment to the fight on climate change
• Ability to quickly understand technical aspects of climate change mitigation
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience
• Willingness to travel extensively within your Member State and to Brussels and Oslo
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-driven and able to operate independently as a member of a Europe-wide team.
Conditions
Each contract will be offered on a consultancy basis. Fees will be competitive for the non-profit sector. Consultants should be based in national capitals. Pending the results of current fund-raising and the results and conclusions of the consultant in each MS, it is expected that some consultants will be offered to become part of a longer political campaign with a 2015 time horizon.
