Job Description:
Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions.
Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g. materials, components, equipment and services). Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
May recommend cost saving proposals including make
Ensure compliance with Tekelec policies, procedures and directives including adherence to minimum contract terms and receipt of approvals at appropriate levels
Collaborate with the other functions to drive cost reduction related to suppliers.
Develop Requests for Proposal, Requests for Quotations or Requests for Information for specific product or service requirements.
Negotiate and draft appropriate contractual terms to achieve the most advantageous business, financial and contractual position for Tekelec in the acquisitions of goods and services.
Review and amend supply contracts or create new supply contracts for assorted corporate business services purchases.

Financial analysis/cost accounting skills
- 2 -3 years business related experience, in-depth knowledge of the Supply Management operations,
- Knowledge of purchasing practices/techniques, knowledge of contracts and contracting related processes
- Completion of an undergraduate Business Degree
- Professional accounting designation considered an asset
- EMS system, Oracle, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
