Projects Management and Fund-Raising Intern

The International Catholic Child Bureau (Bice) Regional Delegation for Latin America is seeking intern to support its work.
Bice is a non governmental organisation founded in 1948 which promotes the dignity and the rights of the child. According to the needs of children and drawing up upon their capacities, Bice develops short, medium and long-range projects in more than 30 countries (see http://www.bice.org/).
In Latin America and the Caribbean, Bice is present in 12 countries and works with a network of 35 member/partner organisations. Action lines include an annual training/best practices exchange seminar on specific subjects related to children rights and technical support to field projects. Among others, subjects dealt with are: children's ill-treatment, sexual violence and exploitation, juvenile justice, informal education with vulnerable children. See http://biceal.org/
To assist the Latin American Regional Delegation with fund-raising and project management, Bice is seeking a full or part time project management and fund-raising intern in its office in Brussels.
Main Tasks
- In collaboration with the Latin America Project Coordinator, develop project proposals and find potential donors for the projects.
- Assist with financial and technical follow-up of projects.
- Assist the communication service in Brussels to update the Delegation website.
- Assist with the organisation of the 2009 Seminar ("A Childhood Decalogue for the 21st Century").
- Assist with the organisation of events to diffuse the publication "Raconte-moi" in Belgium.
Requirements
- Bachelors level or equivalent degree in social sciences or other relevant fields.
- Specialisation in development studies (projects management, logical framework, etc.).
- Excellent French, Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- A good understanding of Latin America.
- Particular interest in children rights.
- Experience in managing website.
- Strong writing skills.
- Flexibility, autonomy, capacity to take initiatives and ability to work in a team.
