Duration of traineeship: maximum 5 months from May 2009 until September 2009
Business Unit
Planning and Settlement of Operations Department (PRO) - Back-office Borrowings (BOE) - Validation and Documentation (Valid. & Doc.)
The traineeship will offer the opportunity to acquire or expand the trainee's knowledge on back-office activities supporting the two teams within the Validation and Documentation unit. He/She will also cooperate with the division's Enrich unit and could potentially interact with other colleagues from capital market, treasury legal, risk management or accounting.

Responsibilities
Under the responsibility of the Head of Division and experienced team members, the trainee will contribute to:
- Participate in implementing test scenarios on new FK system versions
- Participate to essential controls/quality check on fixings, calls
- Take over certain deals' validation with support of team members
- Answer specific technical queries relating to validated deals
- Set-up reports via FK Report Generator and/or Business Object
- Dispatch of pre-confirmations to swap counterparties
- Chase missing confirmations via counterparty or EIB trading
- Discuss and finalise contracts' amendment requests with counterparty
- Update team's daily follow-up file and produce ad hoc statistics

Qualifications
- University degree in business administration or finance
- Experience with a derivatives environment will however be considered as an advantage

Competencies
- Understanding of EIB's activities
- Broad knowledge of financial markets
- Very good know-how of Excel in particular and also other MS Office
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Reuters, as well as knowledge of a trading/settlement system, would be appreciated
- Excellent communication skills
- Very high ability to organise and prioritise daily workload
- Very good understanding of English and good level French
