To obtain the accreditation card, send a request by fax 0032 2285 8026 to the European Council Press Centre.
However this card will not give you access to EU summits, the press card that gves such access has to be
obtained from the presidency.
The EU Council media peak is when there is an Eu summit. Brussels is flooded with journalists when there is an EU
summit. At summits several important decisions are taken, and summits also serve the general purpose of
presenting a united EU front. Summits last 2 days or even more. Eu Council press releases during the summit
become much more interesting than the standard Council press releases.

28. The documents needed are the same as those for accreditation with the commission. The European Parliament
holds its own press briefings organised by the EP’s directorate for information. When the parliament is resident
in Starsborg it holds press briefings there as well.
