Organisation: International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims Post Title: Project Co-Ordinator Job Location: Brussels Closing Date: 10 May 2007 Job Description: As manager of a project which aims at increasing the financial support from governments to the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture As manager of a project which aims at increasing the financial support from governments to the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (and thus for torture rehabilitation centres worldwide) your main responsibilities will be: • Project management (incl. narrative and financial reporting) • Development and implementation (in collaboration with UNOHCHR) of short and long-term strategies to increase the overall governmental funding for and raise the profile of the UNVFVT • Development and implementation (in collaboration with the IRCT member centres) of fundraising and advocacy strategies towards OECD governments • Monitoring and analysing of policy developments and preparation of appropriate response on behalf of the IRCT • Providing information to the IRCT network about UN funding policy and advocacy opportunities Requirements: • Relevant academic background • At least five years experience in similar area and with similar responsibilities • Documented experience in private and public fundraising • Documented experience in international advocacy • Experience with project management (incl. proposal writing, narrative and financial reporting as well as financial control) • Strong communicative and interpersonal skills • Excellent writing skills • Excellent command of English – a good written command of French is an asset. The IRCT will offer a one-year contract (to be renewed depending funding) at a competitive salary. |
